I wen to look at a Craftsman jointer a guy had for sale on CL and found this cast aluminum band saw. I don't think he was the original owner but instead bought it as part of an estate. The saw was in a shed with tons of junk and the stand was sitting out in the back yard with a number of other machines (of which I bought). It took some elbow grease, bearings, tires, paint, link belt, a motor, and some misc. fabrication to bring it back to life, but it runs and cuts great! My initial investment was about what the saw was worth in scrap aluminum. I was worried about finding 78" blades for this saw but custom ordered it from Ellis Band Saw in Verona, WI for under $9.00.
