I have no history on this stand. I purch'd it in Kent, CT in 2008 or 09, and its name attracted me, knowing that the Carborundum firm had been in Niagara Falls, near my home and that I had a sharpening stone with the same name. I believe that the stone was used by a relative to sharpen his scythe, as he was a farmer. I can only suppose that with the correct attachment on top, one could roll something along the top, or use it as a stand off device to use/sharpen a tool at a lathe or grinder. That is what I hope to use it for in the future, as soon as get to fabbing some sort of upper attachment.
