I purchased this Hendey Conehead Lathe in early 2010 in St. Louis, Mo. It was a Craigslist find, and I purchased from the daughter and wife of the deceased previous owner. It was built in 1942, and was in the last run of coneheads ever made by Hendey Machine Co.. It was a part of the war effort, and the PO purchased it from the Navy. I'm the 3rd owner in 68 years. The spindle was seized when I purchased it, and would not spin. I have since rebuilt it, and it runs very, very well. Cuts metal like butter.
