Comments:
Missing parts: upper blade guard / splitter; lower blade guard / dust-exhaust port. Originally missing mitre gauge, but have acquired the appropriate gauge since then (not shown).
Damage: some blade marks on rip fence, some scoring on the pulley end of the arbor shaft (suggesting that an inadequately secured arbor pulley had wandered on the shaft at some point); otherwise in sound condition
Alterations: I replaced the idler-pulley bronze sleeve bearing (which was simply worn down), replaced the motor belt, cleaned up the bare aluminum surfaces, mounted the saw and motor on a new stand, and repainted an unoriginal blue (original color was dull green, mostly flecked off).
Source: yard sale, Saline, Michigan, been in seller's family since at least the 60s.
Cost: $20 for the saw (but add in the blade, belt, bearing, stand, motor-bracket hinges, and paint and you're talking $100 total).
Notes: non-standard 3/4" x 1/4" mitre slot (as with several other saws of this period). Could use a bigger motor than the 1/2 HP now mounted.
