This drill press is similar to the one described by Steve Baum. There are a few differences, pointed out below. I've copied Mr. Baum's description, editing it to fit my drill.
This drill has a 1/2" straight shank chuck. It has been fitted with a quarter inch Jacob's chuck. The pitch on the vertical quill feed is 8 tpi; so the quill travel is almost 3" with 22-1/2 turns of the top feed wheel. That wheel has 55 teeth that can be selected at one tooth per crank, two per crank or three per crank. Therefor, the smallest of the three rates of automatic vertical feed of the quill is 1/8 inch for 55 turns of the spindle. This amounts to .0023 inches vertical feed per turn of the spindle.
There are 39 teeth on the crank wheel and 23 on the quill spur gear. The crank handle is on the 12-3/4" flywheel and has two places where the handle can be located. It weighs 58 1/2 lbs. The board appears to be original and the color is black with silver on the raised letters. It is in very good shape, with no missing or broken parts. The left side casting reads "CANEDY-OTTO MFG CO CHICAGO HEIGHTS ILL". The right side reads "No 10 1/2".
The table is square, 5-13/16 on a side. The underside of the table casting has the digits "04". The square table probably predates Mr. Baum's drill with the larger round table.
