Comments:
This table saw was bought at an auction in Pietermaritzburg South Africa July 2010. I bought it on a whim not knowing this model and being at auction untried. There was no motor nor stand. It turned out that there was severe damage to it in that the whole tilting mechanism had been broken off of which I was not aware of. It was only on getting the machine home, getting it identified and then down loading a parts list that I ascertained that a critical part had been broken off. Later on dismantling it was evident that severe damage was done either by being dropped or receiving a blow which also damaged the tilt gear teeth. Obviously the damaged saw made it partly useless and it would seem that it was then discarded and left in a place where it sat and rusted until it came up for sale. On taking it on, I attempted to purchase the broken parts on the BOYD forum but there were none available so the saw was destined to remain a straight cutting saw only. I completely refurbished it and had to repair the lugs on the trunnion which were broken off and stuck with a weak adhesive. The saw has a large part of the main body made of alloy. It has a rather fragile method of attaching the heavy table to the trunnions and I would say they are vulnerable. However for a small saw it has total adjustment capabilities and I would say in 100% condition and treated with care it would be a delightful saw to use within its limits.

This saw was taken back to the same auction house and put up for resale. It was sold and I managed to make a profit on the original purchase price. It was sold without motor and on the same wooden stand it came on. A learning experience. Caveat Emptor!

Comments: An underview showing the heat damaged trunnion clamp obviously occured when an attempt to repair was made. The lower portion supported a shaft and pinion gear which rotated the table on a gear of the main body just viewable on the left of the trunnion.
