A local Craigslist find. Seller inherited saw from his Father. I don't know if the Father was the original owner. This saw is pretty much complete. It came with a spare Yoke as you can see in photo below. The spare yoke was later sold to another OWWM member. Motor is badged 3/4 HP INTERMITTENT, 115 volt, single phase. Shaft is 5/8" diameter so standard 10" blades will fit.
I believe this model/version of the 30-A is the first manufactured by Red Star based on the following:
1. Location of column elevating crank at the base of column.
2. Having a column locking lever in back of column.
3. Location of the Start switch and Klixon in the trunnion drum near the saw control handle.
4. Blade guard has no dust port or provisions for a leaf guard.
5. No twist lock plug between motor and column (although it may have been removed at some point in its life).
There is one other Model 30-A of the same configuration (earlier serial number 30A-12) listed in the archives here: http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=4802
However this saw is mistakenly listed as a 12" Machine size.
