This is one of four companies that made the "BOSS" beam mortising machine (Buckeye Manufacturing Co., Hardware Specialty Manufacturing Co., Lambert Brothers & Co., and J. H. Osborne & Co.) . Each one claimed exclusivity, so presumably there was no overlap of when each firm manufactured the mortiser.
