From 1919-04-03 The Iron Trade Review

In 1916 the Lambert Machine & Engineering Co. was established by F. A. Nellis, H. Federman, M. D. Faunce, W. W. Myers and Florence Sturtevant; "Lambert" was machine designer David Lambert who was working on designing a horizontal boring mill. That machine was introduced to the market in 1918. It seems likely that the business was under-capitalized, and, wanting funds to finance a factory expansion, accepted an acquisition by a syndicate of Cleveland investors. The Lambert company, under new management, promptly acquired the Carroll Foundry & Machine Co. of Bucyrus, Ohio, renamed the merged company to the Carroll Foundry & Machine Tool Co., relocated their Cleveland manufacturing operations to Carroll's Bucyrus factory, and expanded that merged factory. The Lambert horizontal mill was manufactured for a time by the Carroll Foundry & Machine Tool Co.
