This maker is known primarily from patent records. He received several patents for reciprocating sawmills, reciprocating resaw, and a circular saw.

It is possible that Pearson Crosby's inventions were, for a brief period in 1859, sold by Addison Crosby; see the entry under that name. It is interesting that, although Pearson and Addison were presumably relatives, and each was granted multiple patents, we have not seen any patents granted to both men.
