The Hollingworth Machine Tool Co. was in business by Sep. 1916, making shapers and lathes. The principals were Charles I. Hollingworth and William J. Eggebrecht. So far as we can tell the company was not very successful and the last reliable data point we have is a listing in a 1923-24 city directory.

- 1914 Williams' Cincinnati Directory lists "Excelsior Facing Mills (W T Hollingworth & C I Hollingworth) 14 W 3d". The same listing appeared in the 1915 edition.
- October 1917 Machinery has an illustrated article on the Hollingworth 24-inch crank shaper.
- 1918 Williams' Covington and Newport Directory lists "Hollingworth Machine Tool Co (C I Hollingworth & W J Eggebrecht) s w c 2nd and Greenup".
- 1921-09-11 Cincinnati Enquirer, classified ad: "MACHINE TOOLS FOR SALE. 14 18, 21, 24 and 28 inch shaper, 18" and 10-foot single and double back-gear, quick-change engine lathe. 16" and 18" turret lathe HOLLINGWORTH MACHINE TOOL CO., Second and Greenup sts, Covington, Ky."

- April 1892 The Wood-Worker has an ad for used machinery from W. T. Hollingworth, 234 West Pearl Street, Cincinnati, Ohio." Similar ads ran for at least a year.
- 1897-10-30 Chicago Journal of Commerce and Metal Industries lists attendees of a meeting of the Western Foundrymen's Association, including "William Davis, Excelsior Facing Mills, Covington, Ky. / W. T. Hollingworth, (ditto)".
- 1901 Hendricks' Commercial Register of the United States lists "Excelsior Facing Mills (facings, etc.), Covington, Ky."
- 1905 Williams' Cincinnati City Directory. "EXCELSIOR FACING MILLS, Manufacturers of Foundry Facings and Dealers in Supplies and Moulding Sand, P. O. Box 696, Cincinnati, O. Factory, Covington, Ky." Foundry facing is a material applied to the surface of a sand mold that helps prevent the molten metal from disturbing the sand.
- March 1908 The Wood-Worker has a small classified ad for "Exhaust fan, endless-bed surfacer, scroll and band saws, veneer presses, pony planer, moulders, friezer, wood-worker, tenoner, glue jointer, engine, boiler, sander, machinist's lathe. Write for complete list. W. T. HOLLINGWORTH, P. O. Box 696, Cincinnati, Ohio; Factory, Covington, Ky." The ad ran, unchanged, for several months.
- 1908-03-30 Industrial World has a classified ad: "For sale, Boiler, Engine, woodworker, friezer,... Excelsior Facing Mills, 195 W. Third St., Covington, Ky."
