In the early part of the 20th century, James M. Jones' Jones Safety Device Co. manufactured patent safety guards for tablesaws, shapers, punch presses, etc. The company also had an office in Buffalo, NY. It appears that the Buffalo operations were sold to the Nye Co., which had already been manufacturing the guards under contract to Jones.
