The "Approved Tools" maple leaf logo

We have seen some small home-shop machines of roughly 1946 to '52 that have an oval logo showing three maple leafs and the words "Approved Tools". We believe that that these machines were house-brand machines from Canadian Tire, perhaps representing a higher-quality line of tools. At least some of these "Approved Tools" machines were from Wilson Brass & Aluminum Foundry's "Simple Simon" line of home-shop machines.

An owwm.org forum discussion about a 9-inch bandsaw with this logo. In that discussion, Mark Paulmert shows photos of an Approved Tools jointer that is also badged "Motomaster Power Tools" and "Canadian Tire Corporation".
