This is a 12” radial arm saw, Delta model# 30C, Serial BY-9560 (which makes it a 1958 model). Saw is complete with motor, base, table, 12” blade guard, 2 wrenches. Motor: Marathon electric 10003, 1.5 HP, 3450 RPM, 1ph, 115/230V, 16.8/8.4 amps, Frame 159Y, currently set up for 115V (will need a 20A circuit) The Good: complete saw, relatively uncommon, original paint, original stand, badges in good condition. The stand has the original plywood shelf with original factory paint in good condition and the original factory wood handles. Delta thought this was a ‘portable’ saw (at almost 300 lbs!). See the 1957 Delta catalog AB-57 (http://www.vintagemachinery.org/pubs/detail.aspx?id=470), page 59 at the bottom. Page 64 has the saw specs – note the 12” blade guard listed as an option. The Bad – The paint is flaking is a few very small spots, the decal on the top of the arm is worn, the cap on the front of the arm has had the screws overtightened at some point which distorted the aluminum casting, the stand has had some angle iron bolted diagonally of each side (to stiffen it I imagine) – easy to remove, the cord is cracked and needs to be replaced. One badge has a small scratch on it. One wooden handle has some splintering on an edge under the table but isn’t visible when saw is on stand. Located in central NJ. I can arrange to bring to OWWAMOs. This is heavy for a RAS – It’s about 275 lbs. Asking $350. PM or e-mail (caumack@gmail.com) |
