Delta 12"contractor's saw $500
1970s era 'vintage' Delta 12"contractor's saw. New 110/60; 25-amp NHD (Taiwan) magnetic controller, some new wiring, plug end, good 2 hp Dayton 110/220 motor with a new capacitor. New drive belt. I bought it for 200 dollars not working from a neighbor's estate sale and put at least 300 dollars into it in parts so far. Miter gauge is original Delta part I found on E-bay. I made two waterproof plywood inserts, a zero and Datto model. Comes with 10"and 12" saw blades. The side panels are painted with grey enamel. Bed is clean without blemish and flat. Up and down, angle bits work OK. I rehabilitated the Incra fence, which works fine, and it can be used as LH or RH orienting fence. Parts for these early Incra fences can still be got. It cuts very accurately for a so-called contractor's saw. Fence can be adjusted by 1/32nds. I bought it to do the millwork on a wooden RV shown in the background. Currently it's on a wheeled platform. The Incra fence can be taken off swiftly for movement. While not as solid as a cabinet maker's version of this saw, it can be moved easily, and sets up quickly. The chief advantage is it uses a 12" blade. The 12" blade that came with it is a thick version, Italian, and could do with a sharpening. 500 dollars cash or Paypal. |
