Nice old small Foundry Crucible Salvaged from the Emmert Manufacturing Company in Waynesboro, PA. Not saying it was used to make Emmert vices, but it WAS in their building... Huge foundry there did work for Landis Machine Company, too, back in the day. This unit has about 24" diameter x 24" depth capacity, with sliding lid. 8" thick or so fire cement lining insulates it. Blower attaches to it and ran on kerosene/fuel oil. Blower likely ok, but motor, electrics, fuel source parts not too good. Plan on using propane or natural gas. Comes with tongs, forks, etc for handling the molten metal. Not an expert on foundry work by any stretch. www.matthews.com.au shows a very similar unit.
Will load this thing on your flatbed truck with our forklift. Very heavy, maybe 2,500 lbs. Can weigh it for you to be sure of weight. Have a 5,000 lb digital scale so can be precise about these things. |
