10" Atlas metal lathe. Very good condition. 36" between centers. Has been disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, adjusted and lubed. Has great 1/2 HP 110V motor with new bearings and new capacitor. Has all handles and full set of change gears.
Decent 3-jaw Atlas universal chuck that shows about .003" or less total runout if work is carefully mounted. Very little slack in cross feed and compound. Has unoriginal face plate and dead centers. Has new drive belts. Motor mount/countershaft bracket was cracked, now nickel welded. Later style bracket included if you want it. Guessing the halfnuts have about half their life left. I had them out and swapped top for bottom so the normal carriage feed will push on the less-used side of the threads. Lead screw looks good.
Lathe operates in all feed directions. Will throw in reversing switch if you want it (I don't know how to wire it.)
Has lantern type tool post and one Armstrong cut-off holder with bit. Also has a block tool post that will accommodate an Armstrong tool holder or single high speed tool bits or a 3/4" boring bar.
Most of original paint in good shape. |
