For Sale: General Model 260 wood turning lathe in excellent working condition, Made in Canada. Lathe shows cosmetic wear for its age, but everything runs well. This is the Model 260-1 with the Reeves variable speed.
The motor is 1 hp, 3 phase 208V, but I wired a brand new Teco FM50 Variable Frequency Drive that converts 110V single phase input power to 208V 3 phase output power, so the lathe now runs in my garage on standard household power. The VFD also allows very easy and precise speed adjustment.
Swing over bed capacity is 12", Swing over gap capacity is 16 1/2", Max distance between centers is 38", Headstock and tailstock are no 2 Morse taper. The lathe is approx. 5' long.
The lathe is mounted to some movers dollies, but it weighs close to 600 pounds so a trailer and some means of loading will be required.
I am selling the lathe for $700 and that price includes the brand new VFD which cost $130.
