14” Variable Speed Lathe 5' Bed. Vintage Oliver
Legendary Oliver quality materials & superb machining. Lightly used school machine. Machine beautifully restored to show room condition. Complete dis-assembly of all parts. Each part individually taken to bare metal and finely finished. All bare metal surfaces compound buffed & treated for finish and rust inhibition. All cast parts free of all casting protrusions and voids-two part epoxy treated and professionally painted-(No inferior body filler or talc primer). Even the bed interior surfaces treated!! Heavy sheet metal 3 part assembly base like new condition. Workmanship & detail of attention far superior to original supplied industrial finish. Capacity: 14” diameter swing over bed. 38” long turning-5' bed.
Headstock: Double ended threaded ball bearing spindle drive -with provision to resist thrust from either side -with internal #2 MT inboard. Positional either end of bed-or any point between.
Torque adjust via shifting speed control lever @ headstock to control headstock enclosed cam which shifts inner half of spindle sheave which activates a motor side V belt reeves drive.
Spindle: Nose 1 1/8” diameter. Threads front & rear-hole through entire length for knockout capability. No. 2 Morse taper at front end for centers. Plunger lock to hold spindle for face plate assembly & removal.
Tailstock: 1 1/4” diameter, 8” long bored for No. 2 Morse Taper. Tail center removed by backing of cast iron handwheel.
Bed: Cored casting 6 1/2”wide x 6 1/2”deep 60” long. 36” from floor to top.
Motor: Westinghouse ¾ h.p. 1800 r.p.m 3 phase 208-220 volt.
Electrical: 230 volt single phase VFD-(World Wide sensorless vector variable frequency drive)-with cord extension controller.
Additional Equipment: Positive -lock eccentric clamp tool rest holder;
6” & 12” tool rest,;8” rear combination faceplate and handwheel; 6” inboard faceplate; 3/4” cup center; stainless steel center knockout rod; faceplate wrench; document holder; tailstock clamp wrench & Machine Manual.
