Vintage 6”X9” adjustable mini hobby saw, table saw. Manufactured by Double A Products, in the 1930’s. I restored this little saw and found that under the crud, was a great, fully functional table saw, with miter guide and fence. It turns smoothly and True. I wouldn’t expect it to be used, but it certainly could be. I hooked it up to an undersized motor and it cut like a boss. The original color was red, I painted it blue, it better highlights the Red and Gold decal I had made. Along with the saw, I will send before and after photos and a 1936 and 1937 catalog pages listing the 1930s price of $2.95.This has been a conversation piece in my man-cave for a while and I hate to part with it. When I found it, the first place I went was Google. I spent days researching it and looking for pictures and the manufacturer as it had no identifying marks. I finally found what I was looking for on Vintage Machinery.org after scouring hundreds of photos and finding a close match, a grinder numbered 841. This saw is number 840. I say all that to say this. Judging by the difficulty in finding information, this is a rare find and I have no idea what it’s worth. Someone out there does, and maybe they can enlighten me. I know it’s well made and all the parts are there. The only other unit I did see was missing the fence and miter guide. All reasonable offers considered. |
