I'm selling my year 1919 Drummond B-Type metal lathe. I picked up this item while I was living in England and brought it back to the states. I figured this would be a unique item for some doomsday prepper that is worried how they'll get all their gunsmith and machine work done without an electrical grid. This lathe is solely powered by your foot with assistance from a 100 lb flywheel. When I used it in England, I had it running off of a 1/2HP electric motor to give my leg a break (motor/belts not included).
This lathe runs very smooth for being 99 years old. It comes with a dozen gears that you have to strategically arrange to give you the correct thread pitch that you desire. The entire assembly weighs about 300 lbs but can be broken down into individual pieces for easy transportation.
The $999 price tag is not my final price. I'm just looking to recoup the time/money/effort that it took me to get this from England to the States. If you're seriously interested, please email me and we can discuss a final price. |
