Chop saws are great for cutting stock to consistent angles, but using one to obtain the perfect length in half-hair increments can get a bit chancy. Its design dates from the golden age of cast iron. Made in the USA, Grand Rapids Michigan. Framing, woodworking.
The miter trimmer is designed to take paper-thin shavings and leave a glass-smooth surface on end grain. It's cast iron body and positive, adjustable angle stops hold stock securely at any angle from 45 to 90 degrees. Its thick steel knives are razor sharp and skewed for a shearing action and to hold the stock down during the cut. The blades are driven by a long cast iron handle that gives you tremendous leverage; rack and pinion gears make the cut smooth and controllable.
Capacity: 4" thick, 6" wide. Will trim a 1 x 6 at 90 degrees, and a 2 x 4 at 45 degrees.
