E.H.Sheldon Bench has the second drawer which pulls out so the artisan can take it with him to work outside of his shop. This bench is in excellent condition considering it's age. The bottom of the top drawer has been replaced with luan and the runner for the bottom drawer needs maybe to be glued or pulled in. The former owner cut the size of a 2x4 out of back top to probably fit against wall. There are large screws and nuts in every direction possible to allow constant tightening of bench if needed. These are positioned out of artisan's way. Bottom drawer is divided into fourths, maybe for part sorting. The front has a metal screw round on each drawer (one is missing) which allows the cabinet to be locked...none of the drawers can be removed. It will work with the missing ring, but easy to replace. It has angle irons on the bottom of each leg so that bench can be bolted to ground. Not sure if original because no where have I been able to find a picture of this or any Sheldon Bench. This is a great find and I hate to part with it, but my skills are not deserving of a bench of this quality. |
