In 1875, James M. Beugler was granted a scrollsaw patent. The patent is not explicitly assigned. We have word of an 1875 pamphlet for "The twenty dollar scroll saw, manufactured by J. M. Beugler". At least one scrollsaw survives with the name "Young America" on it (plus "Beugler's Pat." and the patent date). This saw was made by J. M. Beugler. See also the entry for the earlier firm, Du Bois & Beugler.

Information Sources
