Picked up this planer from another OWWM member. It's in relatively decent shape, square head, knives have some life left, babbitt bearing on the drive end needs repoured. Almost a 1/4" vertical play. It's a bit unusual that the bed crank handle is on the opposite side of the planer from all the other #124 planers I've seen.
Scheduled for a full restoration, paint job, and babbitt repour, it's going to become my main planer, with a 7-10HP main motor, and a 1/2HP feed motor with a VFD drive with variable speed. |
