Source=Owner's submission (admin added date based on s/n). Owner's notes: This is a school lathe from Clarkson University, a college in upstate New York. I believe it to be from about 1962. The notched door cabinet seems to appear only in this early 1960's era. Was pleased to discover the spindle bearings are perfect, oil cups were full and gearbox tumblers were tight. Aside from being completely packed with chips and encrusted with coolant crud, the machine emerged as being in quite good condition. I do not think it's a hardened bed and I have not checked for bed wear yet. The motor is a 1HP Century Electric 3-Phase and appears to be original to the machine. |
