Source=Owner's submission (admin added date based on S/N). Owner's notes: The machine is in pretty poor shape and does not have its original motor. Almost all guards and attachments such as fences, tilt table etc. are missing. On the other hand I should mention that both the platen and the drums are not much worn and the cuts due to an off-center abrasive belt are not deep.
My guess is that she is one of the very few in Europe and that she was probably brought to Germany by the US forces and sold in the mid-1990s when reduction of military presence was undertaken.
I bought the machine from a retired woodworker who used to work on it a couple of years ago and took the machine with him when the small company where he was employed shut down.
Funny enough, the machine is currently driven by a 1/2 HP 3-phase motor which was made in the German Democratic Republic in the 1950s. |
