Steve, I worked for K + T in the late 70's as an intern, while going to MSOE.
Back then, the company was gracious enough to both train me, and pay me while receiving a superb "mini" apprenticeship in manufacturing engineering. To this day. I am grateful, and in awe of this gift. I have been in mfg all my life, eventually owning a significant machine shop. I still work a few days a week for it.
One day, upon arriving for "work" near Hwy 100 in West Allis, there were a bunch of little Korean guys doing jumping jacks before start time. Turns out their company had purchased the "rights" to build the S and TF manual machines, including training in how to build them. Turns out, that company was Daewoo Heavy Industries, eventually to become severe competition to K + T, and a world leader in CNC machines.
I admired the Rotary Head "D" machines, enough so that I recently purchased this machine, more for nostalgia than purpose. It is in decent shape, whatever that means. I worked for a Tool and Die shop in the late 80's, so I appreciate what a tool this style of machine was back in the 50's, eventually to the point where CNC surpassed this design.
Am looking for a mfg date from you, (guessing early 40's) along with owners manual and wiring diagram.
Curious about the tool holder design as well.
