Source=Owner’s submission. Owner’s comments: A nice old cast iron monster. I acquired it about a year ago from a PO who didn't have room for it at his new location. I use it mostly for deep mortises using a sliding table template with hold downs. It is likely a great dowel hole maker, too.
It came with a good set of bit holders and several center point bits. It has a depth of stroke about 3"5/8. With longer bits and a second pass through on a moved table set up, I can easily double the depth.
Someday it will need bearings, but since I added a bit of grease to the foot pedal works and adjusted the quill stop and added some 20 wt. oil, wiped on the quill, it works like a tuned piano. You can stomp all day. |
