Source=Owner's submission (admin added date based on s/n). Owner's notes: Found this jointer in bad shape in an antique store in Addy WA (NE of Spokane about 60 miles)in 2016. Bought it for $50, spent the next 2 months rebuilding it, including new bearings, motor, belt, and blades. Built my own custom "minion" mobile base to the delight of my grandsons. Two weeks ago, one of the blade gibs vibrated loose and released its blade, also bending the gib. I can't find a replacement anywhere so am forced to look for a substitute (I'm considering a carbide-shearing so as to keep the tool while upgrading the performance). Based on other research, I believe the machine was originally made in 1949. It was apparently used in one or more of the timber-based companies in the area surrounding Addy-Chehalis-Colville Washington area. |
