No bids received in auction ended 11/04/2015, which had $2500.00 starting price and $3250.00 "Buy-It-Now". 06/13/2018 update: now owned by Bill Cary, who advised: I bought the lathe off a Craigslist ad late last year. It came with the VFD. The motor is 220V 3 phase, 600,1200,1800 and 3600. The owner before me kept the motor control set at 1200 because the owner before him said he never changed it. I checked the switch out and found I am able to use all of the original motor speeds in conjunction with the VFD. The low end torque is much greater using the 600 rpm speed and the VFD than with the 1200 speed. The 600 and 1200 rpm speeds are all I need with the VFD. A friend gave me original 12" and 8" face plates, a #4 mt spur center and the patternmakers tools. The outboard face plate was turned from aluminum. The diameter is 15.375",max for metal lathe. The outboard turning stand came with my purchase and is a Delta. I added the 1/2" steel plate. The compound is not original to the lathe; it came with my purchase. I made the mobile base before I brought the lathe home. I lowered the lathe onto the base and rolled it to its place in the shop. It can be moved very easily. |
