I picked up this Dewalt GP Radial Arm Saw off an online auction. It had a break in the bevel lock on the yoke and a chip out of the arm on the front right side. This must have been enough to scare off other bidders as I was the only bidder and got it for $100 in the last 60 seconds of the auction. The saw was close to my daughter's home and she was coming for Christmas so the previous owner (saw used in building flat bed trailers) loaded all 455 lbs into the 4 foot bed of her Explorer Sport Trac. It was a full load, but it made it safely to my home on December the 23rd, just in time for Christmas. We had all the family in for Christmas and made them "work for their supper" by unloading that monster into my shop.
The motor had been rewound and new bearings installed less than three years ago. I repaired the casting chip and a friend welded the break in the yoke. I made a cap to replace the original since it was missing. The finish is Rustoleum Hammered Black. I will be powering this saw with a TECO FM50 VFD. A new table will be constructed and leveled using the original instructions for the saw.
