One Saturday morning I stopped by a Church yard sale, spotted this old Monster sitting on the curb; as I was looking at it a Church staff member appeared and I asked "how much"? "make an offer" he said, I did, and one I thought was ridiculous. He said, "sold" and soon 5 more church staffers appeared and loaded it on my truck. It was a heavy saw with the steel cabinet, but thought maybe I could save this old guy to last another 60 years. I believe the original color was the Machinery Lt Gray, but I liked the Craftsman, Blue/Gray color, thus that's what I used. Krylon Industrial Tough Coat Acrylic Enamel, Machinery Blue/Gray #329, ASA 24. The motor is a Dayton 1.5 HP, 1725 rpm, 120/230 V. wired for 120 now(don't think original). This is a tilt 3/4 in dia arbor saw, so evidently when it was new must have had a motor mounted on the back of the trunion to turn with the blade tilt, but I mounted this motor like it was when I got it so angle cuts will probably not be possible. If anyone knows what the motor support bracket looks like on the original saw, I would appreciate some info or a picture. Would be nice to have the motor tilt with the blade. So there you have it; another Old Woodworking Machine saved from the scrap heap. And Yes, the saw blade still sticks up about an inch above the table when fully retracted. Hummmmmmmmm???? Hope you enjoy the pictures.
An Update 12-19-2013, on where to purchase the Machinery Blue Gray paint, ref. an inquiry from OWWM member, Tony. I bought the paint from GlobalIndustrial.com. https://www.globalindustrial.com/contactUs, and their Product # is: T9AB37811, and min order is 12 (case), 12 oz. cans and the price per case is $57.72. Just give them that number and that should get your the paint. Thanks again Tony for your helpful inquiry. 11-04-2019 Inquiry from Steve D. Has one of these Table Saws, and had the arbor that hold the blade turned down from 3/4 in to 5/8 in to fit standard hole blades. His problem is that the Miter Gauge slot is not Parallel to the Blade, so I told him, if the arbor was removed to turn it down, maybe when it was reinstalled, it could be a bearing or was not seated perfectly in the arbor carriage. If anyone has had the same problem and found a solution, let me know, and I will relay your messg. to Steve D. Thanks.
