Comments:
This machine was purchased new by my wife's grandfather in 1952. He built the homemade stand with the motor mounted underneath on a spring tensioned platform. He used it until he died in 1970. The lathe sat in his basement untouched until 1996 when it was given to me by my father-in-law, he had no use for it. I have cleaned the dirt off only, it still has some surface rust. The motor had to be replaced, but it runs great now.
