I got this from my pepere before he passed. He bought this brand new while he was a contractor/builder back in the day. I've had it since 1990 (or thereabout) and it's been in mom's cellar since. The motor was rebuilt in 1980 when doing a major addition to pepere's funeral home (he needed something less strenuous). We used this saw every day 'til the completion, cross, ripping, dadoes, you name it... I just finished tuning it up, though kept the original top and placed scrap hardboard top on it for my use.
I don't think I'll repaint it as I like the patina with surface rust. This thing runs like a champ and hums like a bird. Only problem is the motor sometimes starts in reverse! I'll check on this soon. Thanks for looking!
update: motor was shot and i had it rewound for the cost of $425! also had it wired for 220 only. now, just a little more tweaking to get back to perfection! it seems there's alot of deflection front-to-back that needs to be adjusted. also, a mr sawdust top looks to be in order. I got christmas gifts of saw blades from forrest mfg., 8" 60 t, and 8" stack dado. Amazing! sooo worth the money!
