This machine was given to me by a friend about 3 years ago. His grandfather gave it to him about 25 years ago. My friend rarely used it. The motor is a 1/4 hp, 1750 RPM and was manufactured by The Sunlight Electric Manufacturing Company. The electric ground was not hooked up when I first tried it out. I removed the switch cover plate on the motor and hooked up the ground. It is a lot more comfortable to use now. The crankcase has a 4 step pulley. This saw has what appears to be the original motor plate and adjusting wrench. The wrench has DRIVER cast into it. I mounted it on a home made sawhorse with casters, nothing fancy at this time. This thing weighs over a hundred pounds. I recently disassembled it, striped off the paint and repainted it with a hammered bronze color. I wire brushed the non painted parts. The assembly that holds the blade at the top is made of aluminum. The bracket that retains the hold down foot is cracked and needs to be re-welded. The motor has brass sleeve bearings that are worn, but still runs rather quiet. Reworking the motor is more than I want to tackle at this time.
