This little unit was purchased from the nephew of the original owner, who worked for Clairol Cosmetics. He had a small machine shop in his basement for 'tinkering'.
This is the only saw known, to date, with the optional Art-Deco Cast aluminum one piece wheel guard, and optional metal cutting gearbox.
This saw was fairly modern for its time, it came factory equipped with double shielded ball bearings in the wheels, hardened steel blade guides and ball bearing thrust bearing mounted parallel to the blade, as opposed to the perpendicular style that Delta and many others used
The diamond shaped item at the top of the door is the reseller's tag, in Connecticut
The first picture was as it was picked up, with a few other coats of clown paint buried under the tan colored exterior. The original Navy Blue and black paint was at very bottom of paint layers on the base, motor and frame casting. The Door was bare cast aluminum, with a stippled texture, behind the reseller's tag.
It is currently undergoing a restoration, 11/25/09
