The number shown on nameplate just above the word MASTER looks like 24G208. The 1944 Kindt-Collins catalog only makes reference to an A, B or C model. I believe that the number on mine is actually 24C-208 where 24 is the size, C is the model and 208 the serial number. If you take a look at my badge below, note that the Model-S/N just fits on one line. I believe that what looks like a G is actually a C with the dash squeezed in to allow the number to fit on one line. Or…. maybe, because my machine is older than those shown in the 1944 catalog, Kindt-Collins had a different numbering system at the time and G stood for GROUND discharge. Who knows for sure?
Model A is equipped with what they call an "efficient" internal blower that discharges out the left side of machine. A canister was available, as an option, to collect the dust. Model B did not have the internal blower but discharged thru the rear of machine. Model C has an internal "low pressure" blower that discharges to the floor under the machine and that is how mine is configured. A past owner added the ductwork shown. I'm guessing a "low pressure" blower simply has a smaller diameter impeller than the "efficient" blower in model A but I don't know for sure.
Note: The Gooseneck Light, Disc Guard & Miter Guage are missing. I would like to find missing items so if anyone can help please get in touch. Thank you.
I no longer own this sander as it was sold.
