Purchased on eBay from previous owner (also in Central, MA). I suspect that the machine was once owned by a contractor—not the guy I bought it from—as the electrical had been modified with a plug and socket so the motor could be easily removed for lock up. Manufacture date is based on the image on this site titled "DeWalt serial numbers versus date of manufacture" http://www.owwm.com/mfgindex/imagedetail.aspx?id=1244

Motor housing with plug and socket for easy motor removal. I replaced these because the older sockets would not fit throught the saddle, making it necessary to remove the saw blade to rotate the motor for cuts parrallel to the table.
