I happened to see a post in BOYD submitted by Bill Nance for an Atlas 912 for $50.(GREAT PRICE) I seriously thought about buying that saw and trying to get a rucker from Calif. to Fla. But I knew that it would take months and months to get it across country,if at all. So I forgot about it and was content with my little 12" 50's vintage Craftsman.
A couple weeks later I stopped by a garage sale looking for Disney dvd's for my Grandkids. I happened to look in the garage and spotted an Atlas bench model Drill Press. I asked the guy if I could take a look at it as I was interested in old power tools and I had a floor model of that press.
He showed it to me and I asked if he was interested in selling it. He said he used the dp pretty often so he wanted to keep it.
I bought a couple of dvd's and was on my way to the car when he stopped me and asked if I was interested in a Band Saw. Sure I said, of course it depends on what kind and how much.
He said he couldn't keep the blade from running off and hadn't used it in years. He was the second owner.
I sold my Craftsman and bought this. It's a much better made saw.( I put new tires on it and the upper wheel tilt adjustment bolt was bent so I made a new one.)
