I bought this one today at an estate auction for $40.00. I had the near winning bid at $15.00 but someone jumped back in at the going twice portion of the program and took it to the final $40.00. The former owner's grandson told me that the prior owner had used it for cutting blocking for a house moving and train salvage business. I retrieved it from an open canopy shed on the back of the garage on the property where I am told that it has been for at least 40 years. Most of the controls do move. There is much expected surface rust and on the legs, some pitting as well. The table wood is tough and it has a double pole breaker for a switch. The motor did not spin freely until I fished out a few motor fins that were loose in the housing. Consequently, I have not run it. 2 hp. single phase motor with motor serial 586x46. OK Guys...Tell me I am not crazy on this one...Much rougher than usual projects that I normally tackle and I am short on the RAS knowledge right now. Just know from running my dad's 9 inch that these can be great saws! Can anyone say Spooge tank??? I won't be starting this one tomorrow but what are the prospects of getting motor parts/repair etc? I have soaked all of the bolts and adjustments down with WD-40 to slow down the elements. Any input appreciated on this one.
