I purchased this stroke sander in April 2009 from a local school district, downsizing a school wood shop. The stroke sander was in rough condition, but not ready for the scrap yard. The drums were missing pieces of rubber down to the aluminum. The table was sanded unevenly, students learning the hard way (for the sander, at least). I have a local connection that could recover the drums, reasonably. My local connection had never worked on sander drums before, we learned together. The drums were flat ground, the belt would not track properly. I then learned we needed a slight crown to aide in tracking. I removed the drums and returned to have them ground with a .030" crown, perfect! The sander is 3 phase, a DC drive solved the power issues.
