I picked this saw up from Craigs's List in Clinton, IA over the weekend for $125.00. It wasn't in the plans to do this, but if you are looking at this post, you know how it goes!! Ha!Ha!Ha! The original owner ran a shop in Clinton, IA and used it for his business there. The second owner picked it up from his neighbor (owner 1) when the first owners health failed about 10 years ago. That makes me owner number three. This machine is pretty much plug and play barring new cords, and a minor lamp repair. How it appears in the pictures is how I found it. Owner 1 had boxed the Delta base with a cabinet that was installed drilling no holes in the stand (very cool!). He finished the cabinet with a spare factory Delta badge on one side and a brass Delta logo on the other that appears to have been cut out using the saw. The original owner then filled the cabinet with spare OEM parts that are still with the saw, most in original packaging. One of the packets is dated August 31, 1945, and I used this plus site photos to guess at the date. If anyone can confirm, please drop me a note but I think that I am close. The decals and paint are very nice on this machine for its age and I plan leave it as is for now. The original Delta catalog 800 motor and switch work fine. I cut with it last night and was quite pleased with the results so far. A little cleaning and away we go!!
