Acquired in a trade. This is an early direct motor drive model. It's main journals are 11" x 2 1/4" babbitt with self oiling boxes and micro adjust side clamping caps. In this case, the motor option requires attentive adjustment of the stator housing as the bearing wears. Motor was made by American. This one has been re-wound. It is not possible to drain the motor side bearing by gravity means with this drive option. Lower front right side feed roll adjustment requires removal of part of the spring link rods. Other than that, straight forward. Some wedge oilers a bit of a reach.
These are a truly amazing machine. Runs like a clock and treats the material like china.

Typical around the block feed drive starts here with two speed step pulleys from cutterhead spindle. Covers for chain drives for upper feed rolls, lowers are gear driven on the other side. Little weight is for the chain tensioner. Guard removed.
