Two years ago, I had found out that the Portland School District was having a auction for tools from the surrounding high schools. I went to preview the items and found this band saw that had not been sold from the previous sale. It was missing a upper tire, the upper wheel guard and knobs, other wise it was sound and showed little wear. Boy they had some really heavy duty wood working machines there. I could hardly keep from drooling on myself! Heavy cast iron spindle sanders, shapers, lathes and the list goes on, all from the 40/50/60's era. Unfortunately, I did not make the next sale! Those auctions have since ceased. I could kick myself!
I found a wheel guard and knobs on E-Bay and bought 2 tires for the wheels. I bought a old Delta Lamp Attachment No. 882 for it(that was a hard find!) I use this machine all the time. I even cut dog bones in half for the pets!
I had another much older 14" Delta/Milwaukee that was the wood and metal cutting version I had restored. I sold it. I have found these Delta 14's are great sound units.
