I acquired this beauty through CL 3 years ago. The son was selling his fathers drill press. He indicated that his father was a clock maker. The father bought it 1952. I am the second owner. This press is smooth. It has a built in light running to a separate switch. The table tilts to any angle with locating pin for vertical and horizontal positions. An automatic belt tension device keeps the belt at just the right tension. It came with the factory 1/3 HP 1725 single phase motor. The son provided South Bend's part list, catalog, price list and instructions from 1952. This press sold for the grand total of $102.00 in the 50's.
