I found this rusted 6" Jointer in an old shop in Oregon 3 years ago. I went there from a listing in CL's for a 12" Parker/Craftsman Planer and saw this on the side. I also noticed a rusted 1460 Delta Lathe with a counter shaft assembly (16 speed) with original pine boards and cast iron stand! I started drooling immediately, but did not let on. I had to go find a bank open for the extra cash. I brought home the planer, the jointer and the lathe! Oh it was a good day. It gets better!
I cringed pulling into the driveway! Where is the wife? How am I going to explain this one? I could hear her say, "not again, you bought another old machine". Yet, this was not one, but three in one trip! I managed to get everything inside the shop before she noticed me unloading. The shop was such a mess during these buying days with old unfinished machinery. I just hoped she wouldn't see these new/old additions. It worked! She brought in my lunch the next day and didn't say a word. Oh....... there is a God! Actually she is pretty good, but one can push the envelope only so far! She likes to go out for dinner and I always become dutiful, or at least I think I do!
I really appreciate this design by Delta with it's optional art deco cast iron stand. All original including motor, switches, tags, logos, etc. I removed the rust, put on a new paint job, and only had to replaced the bearings and a set of new knives. I re-wired it for 220v.
