I didn't need this machine, didn't have room for it and probably will never put it to much use.But ever since I saw one on this site I thought it was one of the coolest machines I'd ever seen and I wanted one. I kept an eye out on C-list and on OWWM-BOYD for one that was fairly close so I didn't have to ship or rucker, but no such luck. Finally I decided to put out a UFO, uh, I mean an APB on an Alien.I borrowed a photo from this site (thanks-Robert Bernstein) and ran this ad on the local C-list ***ALIEN*** If you have one of these and want to sell reasonably, email me. I got 17 emails. Sixteen were- What the h*ll is it and what the h*ll does it do? And I got one that said HEY I've got one of those in my garage and I'll give you a good price on it. The guy I bought it from was retired from the local newspaper and had bought it from the widow of a friend of his about 15 years ago and that his friend was the original owner. The motor is a Craftsman 1/3 hp 1750 rpm. It's on a Delta flair footed tablesaw stand that has been cut and spliced to give it more height. It will be a while before I can do anything with it , but actually it's plug and play if I needed to use it.** I disassembled it and put in new bearings.Striped and repainted. I painted the planer Rust-oleum Hammered Dark Bronze. The chrome motor ring was rusted badly so I wire wheeled it and painted it gloss black and the rest of it dark bronze. the stand was also painted dark bronze and black. I know the orange cord doesn't look good but it was what I had and I may change it in the future.
****I really didn't like it on the Delta stand so I put it on a Craftsman stand***
