Diehl #660 Lumber Jointer
FOR SALE. Near Salisbury, NC. Sold "As is, Where is". Any reasonable offer accepted. Will load on your truck.

This massive machine puts an edge profile, like a tongue & groove, on variable thickness lumber as its segmented belt feeds stock over the heads. This and the facer were the heart of the panel milling production that filled up the hundreds of panel clamps in the rooms beyond these machines. It comes with two extra heads as shown. The adjustable fences both move evenly on their gears when cranked. It is over 8' long and has got to be all of 2000#. When asked for more info, Rob Beckman of Diehl Machines (rob.beckman@diehlmachines.com) replied:

[...your machine is a 660 lumber jointer. Yes, this machine could do flooring. However it will not put the relief in the backside of the flooring. One other cause of concern would be that the feed chains might leave marks in the flooring that would have to be sanded out.]

Everyone at the factory could not remember the last time the machine ran; it is not powered now. Paint seems original and heads do spin. Nice patina on metal. More pics available.

Comments: Two extra heads shown. Hand cranks move roller assemble towards/away from circulating segmented belt. I think stock fed through from top right, out through, got flipped and sent through the other side.
