Comments:
This old line shaft shop is less than a mile from my house. The shop is not for sale as it still belongs to the original family. I will be posting several machines from here. It looks as though with the exception of two or three, that the original owner made them. There is extensive use of angle iron for frames, bodies and feet though the main elements of shafts, cranks for raising and/or adjusting are commercial products. The badge on the 24" planer is The Egan Company, Cincinnati Ohio USA. The in feed roll is the solid corrugated type with counter weights at floor level. It appears to be a single speed with a square head. Uncertain as to the number of blades...it looks like two.
